Pleasure Point Compound - Custom Modern Architecture

Pleasure Point Compound

Santa Cruz, CA

This comprehensive residential remodel exemplifies the unique complexities of building within the typically constrained lot sizes of the highly sought-after Pleasure Point district in Santa Cruz. The original structure was a conglomeration of disjointed additions built on varying foundations over the decades. Our challenge was to carefully reconstruct and unify the home while seamlessly integrating the new programmatic requirement of an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) within this tight footprint.

To ensure long-term structural integrity, the optimal solution was to construct an entirely new foundation. This highly technical process required meticulously raising and temporarily supporting the portions of the existing structure that were selected for preservation and adaptive reuse.

The finished result is a cohesive, enduring home brought fully up to modern standards. By integrating the ADU, the property now offers the vital flexibility of independent living space while reading beautifully as a single, unified compound.
