Ag House
Santa Cruz, CA
An entirely new construction, the Ag House was developed for a young family whose priorities demanded highly efficient building costs and minimal long-term maintenance.
Serving as a practical case study, the design demonstrates that strict budget and durability requirements do not have to come at the expense of rich spatial quality, sustainability, or the occupant experience.
The structure is wrapped entirely in a prefinished metal skin, creating a monolithic, fully recyclable shell. This rugged materiality drastically reduces lifecycle costs and eliminates the need for exterior painting, ensuring the home remains resilient and visually striking for generations.
